When removing dog vomit from carpet, follow the steps below.

1. Use a spoon or fork to remove solid or dried materials from the vomit.

2. If the stain is large, work from the outside to the center to prevent it from spreading. Blot up any liquid with a paper towel or cloth.

3. Apply a solution of one teaspoon of detergent or one cup of vinegar to one quart of water to the area, then dampen the area with a cloth. If you use a brush, lightly brush the area in one direction so you don't damage the carpet fibers.

4. If necessary, put on some rubber gloves and work the detergent solution into the carpet.

5. Wet the carpet with clear water to rinse.

6. Place clean paper towels or clean cloths on the area and weight them down. Change the paper towels or cloths when they hove absorbed liquid.

7. After the spot has dried, brush up the piling and vacuum the area. Be sure the spot is completely dry before walking on it.
